Who is Refine MD?

Kay Theyerl MD

Dr. Theyerl earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a master’s degree in cardiovascular physiology from George Williams College. After a career spanning 15 years, she earned her medical degree from The Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Gundersen Lutheran. She has since earned board certification in Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. She and her injector partners in Refine MD have received aesthetic training from some of the top trainers in the country and they participate in ongoing training several times yearly. In 2018, she completed a Master Injector Course to learn and perfect advanced techniques in neurotoxin and dermal filler injections.

Dr. Theyerl has been with ThedaCare since 2004 as a practicing Internist and more recently as the Medical Director for Lifestyle Medicine and Medical Director for ThedaCare at Work — Clinical Services.

Dr. “Kay” is a native of Appleton having returned here after completing her medical training. She loves spending time outdoors biking or kayaking with her fiance’, Tom, or relaxing with family and friends.

Jayne Bottensek, RN, BSN

Since 2017 she has honed her Nurse Injector skills through onsite expert training, as well as training and mentoring with the Refine MD physicians and Nurse Practitioner Injector. Her kind, relaxed demeanor puts her clients instantly at ease. She offers treatments in BOTOX® Cosmetic for lines and wrinkles, Kybella® for stubborn fat areas under chin and jawline, and aesthetic dermal fillers such as the Juvederm ™ line of products to enhance facial features and soften fine lines and wrinkles.

Being a firm believer in keeping our bodies healthy on the inside, aesthetic nursing will balance the care she gives her clients, assisting them to feel ageless inside and out!

Jayne enjoys spending time with her family; gardening; walking her poodle, Daisy; and traveling.

Sujitra Tesch, RN

In addition to her endearing personality, Sujitra’s skills include injectables: wrinkle relaxers to smooth lines, dermal fillers to plump and give volume, and injections to build collagen; lasers, microneedling, and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to improve skin health and appearance; and coolsculpting for body sculpting. Refine MD is so fortunate to have Sujitra rejoining our team of experienced and skilled aesthetic providers!

Sujitra enjoys spending time with her family on the lake. When she is not at work you can find her playing with her new puppy or creating something delicious in her kitchen.

Ashley Filen (Licensed Medical Aesthetician)

Since 2009, she has been working with clients to improve their skin health with a special interest in acne and acne scarring. She enjoys helping clients discover the right product and treatment combinations for a successful outcome. Her passion and expertise are evident in every interaction with her clients — they appreciate her professionalism and her caring, gentle nature.

Ashley loves having outdoor adventures with her partner, Luke, and her 2 children, running her dogs, and whipping up new recipes in her kitchen.

Nicholle Preuss (Licensed Medical Aesthetician)

When not at Refine, Nicholle enjoys the outdoors, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and son.

Peggy Stepanski (Licensed Medical Aesthetician)

Peggy is a consummate professional with the training and experience to provide her clients with superb care and outstanding results. From Microneedling with PRP, Coolsculpting, and Diamond Glow, to Broad Band Light (BBL) and HALO, Peggy enjoys providing a wide range of aesthetic services to her clients. “I enjoy using my expertise to consult with my clients to create a plan to help them feel and look their best!”

Peggy enjoys learning and honing her skills. She loves to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technology in the medical aesthetics world and appreciates working with her colleagues at Refine MD to bring state-of-the-art medical aesthetic services to her clients. Her passion for working with people to help them achieve their goals is evident when you meet her!

Sharon Konitzer (Licensed Medical Aesthetician/Certified Medical Assistant)

Driven by a passion for comprehensive health and wellness, Sharon takes pride in consulting with clients to develop a personal treatment plan that will deliver the results they expect. She believes that inner health and vitality are reflected in our outer beauty and she works with clients to present their best selves to the world.

Sharon is a seasoned professional with extensive training and experience in all things medical aesthetics, including microneedling, microdermabrasion, hydrafacials, laser and light treatments, and coolsculpting. She loves to share her passion for excellence and her positive attitude with all of her clients.

Sharon’s personal life and interests follow the same passion for health. She has been an aquatics and fitness instructor at the YMCA for 20 years. Her healthy lifestyle includes eccentrics, structured exercising, swimming, camping, and golf.

Sharon brings her wealth of knowledge, passion, and positive attitude to all she does at Refine MD.

Catrina Gonzales (Lead Client Care Specialist)

Since she was a child, she has always been passionate about taking care of her body physically and mental/emotionally. “I love to stay active and in my late twenties I started going to Refine MD for the adult acne that had developed. Over the years their staff and services have been amazing and the results were astonishing. Because of all of my great experiences I decided to pursue a position with Refine MD”.

In her free time, she enjoys working out every day and spending time outdoors. When she is able, she loves to travel throughout the state and to other parts of the country.

Catrina brings her love of clients, her vibrant personality and infectious laugh to all of our clients and staff.

Amy Gregory (Client Care Specialist)

Amy has a background in cosmetology and has always enjoyed working in the beauty industry.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, gardening and going up to ”the lake”.

Jamie Dunham, RN, BSN, MSLOQ (Client Care Specialist)

Jamie has been a client since Refine’s doors opened and has had her eye on working with this wonderful team. When the time came to begin yet another phase of service-driven work, she was excited to join Refine MD. “My goal is to bring the best personalized experience to our clients so they leave with a feeling of external and internal well-being. What better gift to give yourself than an investment in looking good, feeling good and just being the best version of one’s self.”

A long-standing exercise enthusiast Jamie engages in a variety of activities including year-round outdoor biking, walking/running, weights and yoga. Jamie and her husband have a blended family consisting of 5 children, 4 located outside of Wisconsin which means destination travel (that they live in warmer weather climates is a plus), to visit all their amazing grandchildren. She enjoys boating, reading, golfing, sports and confesses to an addiction to HGTV.

Jodi Klosterman (Client Care Specialist)

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her children and baking delicious cookies.

Kathie Hacker (Client Care Specialist)

Though she spent 23 years in health care and insurance, her true passion has always been skin care. She learned about and experimented with different cleansers, lotions, and masks from the age of 12. She is excited to join the Refine family after her retirement from her “first” career. She is passionate about working with her Refine MD clients to help them learn and to find the best regimens for their skin! She is also quite knowledgeable about all of the Refine MD services and can speak to their effectiveness and results.

Kathie has a bachelor’s degree in Business Communications from Concordia University. She is the proud mom of two wonderful daughters and grandmother to two awesome grandsons. Kathie has taught Pilates at the local YMCA for over 12 years. In her free time she likes to read and exercise and enjoys her time traveling and biking with her husband, Jeff.

Katie Van Lankvelt (Practice Manager)

She has a passion for focusing on the customer experience and feels relationships with her customers is one of the most satisfying parts of her career. Katie loves to learn and figure out ways to grow herself and her industry knowledge. She believes that happiness is finding your confidence and feeling good about yourself which is one of the things that attracted her to join the team at Refine.

Katie and her husband Luke are proud parents to beautiful twin daughters. They have a passion for spending time outside and teaching the girls all that Wisconsin has to offer. They spend their summers enjoying time on the lake in Shawano and their winters downhill skiing with the girls.

Katie brings to Refine a wealth of knowledge and experience along with her energetic personality.
